I will give thank to you, LORD, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonderful deeds.

Psalm 9:1 (NIV)

Grade 1 starts each week by writing in their “Thank You, God!” book. Students tell the rest of class how God has blessed them.

There is so much to be thankful for at The Esther School! Mamas serve two and a half meals a day. Teachers create safe and welcoming classrooms. And God inspires and guides everything.

Blessings surround us, and thankfulness is a part of the culture.

Teachers constantly show the importance of thankfulness. Students enter an environment where they see people living with a grateful heart — by their words, their manner, and their prayers. Students receive encouragement to share what they are thankful for. Opportunities like devotions give them the chance to tell their peers and teachers what God has given. Students learn to notice and appreciate what God does in their own and in others’ lives!

With an environment encouraging thanksgiving, students are inspired to show their gratitude as well. Students thank individuals like mamas, workers, and teachers —saying kind words, giving hugs, and writing cards! And they thank God in their prayers. Throughout the day, “Thank you, God, for my family. Thank you, God, for my teachers. Thank you, God, for water. Thank you, God, for sponsors…” commonly fills the classrooms!

Thankfulness is a part of our culture.

Thank you, everyone involved in The Esther School – students, family member, staff and teachers, supporters, and our Heavenly Father!
