In "Meet the Teacher" we will be introducing you to the new staff at The Esther School. Read on for the first introduction: Paige Redner.
Paige Redner joins The Esther School as a Grade Four teacher. Read below as Paige tells more about herself and how God has been preparing her for The Esther School!
WHO I AM:
I am a recent graduate of Grand Valley State University with a Language Arts-Elementary Education degree. I grew up in Caledonia, Michigan with passions for dancing and spending time with kids. I also thoroughly enjoy reading, playing outside in the sunshine, and laughing with my friends and family!
After hearing about The Esther School from some friends, I decided to look into the website and put this opportunity at the front line of my prayers. I have always had a heart for missions and have loved traveling to different areas of the country and world. My favorite part of traveling is learning about different cultures and sharing life with other individuals while building a Christ- centered relationship.
Throughout high school, I traveled to Tennessee, Illinois, and Mexico with my church. Some of those trips were work mission trips while others were focused on VBS. Each time we left a place where we had grown in relationship with the community, I found myself wishing that I could stay for more than just the week or two we were there.
Then, the summer of 2014, I had the opportunity to travel to Ghana with Grand Valley State University. We lived in community in Winneba, a fishing town on the coast, for two months. While there, I fell in love with African culture! Again, I found myself wishing that I could stay for more than the two months that had just flown by so quickly.
When The Esther School was presented to me, it tugged on my heart for many reasons. After weeks and months of prayer, I truly felt that God was calling me to this school, this mission, and these children for this season of my life!
I could not be more excited to spend the next two years of my life in Zambia and immerse myself in a new culture and community. I am so grateful that I get to do this all while incorporating my greatest passion, teaching! I look forward to the opportunity of serving others and impacting lives for Christ!
