Today marks the 50th year of independence for Zambia. Banners, flags, and commemorative chitanges paint the town for celebration of this jubilee year. We celebrated Independence Day at the school in collaboration with Family Day. Yesterday, The Esther School welcomed the students’ families. Each class put on mini programs for the visitors, illustrating what they have been learning at school. The students have been practicing all week in order to prepare. They were so excited to show their families all they have been doing. The parents clapped and cheered for their students throughout the programs. We all joined together to sing the national anthem and songs to God. We closed the day with cookies, punch, and fellowship. It was a great day of celebrating both Zambia and the work God is doing at The Esther School.

Another reason to celebrate is that we now have every child sponsored! Thank you so much to everyone who answered the call to sponsor! God hears our prayers and we are so thankful.

Here’s a few pictures of the day!
